The Brief: Yorkshire Water had expansion plans for Esholt Waste Water Treatment Works. The aim was to improve the quality of water entering the River Aire. To facilitate the improvements a new high voltage intake position was required.
The Solution: IUS were actively involved in the design, supply and installation of an eight panel 11kV incoming switchboard, two new substations and the replacement of four existing oil filled ring main units. Two transformers on site were also upgraded by fitting oil temperature indication and replacing the insulating oil with Midel.
The Results: Yorkshire Water has an effective processing plant. The
installation works include high tech telecontrol units, installed for remote
operation as well as automatic fault restoration. This is an ideal solution
to this 'super critical' site.
