The Brief: Key to Northumbrian Water's business is the necessity for essential supplies to be available 24/7. Therefore an inspection and maintenance service provider for their high voltage apparatus, with an emergency repair capability, is a vital requirement. This service is needed for 40 sites.
The Solution: IUS are employed under a Contract Maintenance Agreement to carry out a range of activities including substation inspections, switchgear maintenance, transformer oil analysis, protection testing, fault diagnosis, location & repair, battery maintenance and where appropriate non-intrusive maintenance techniques.
The Results: Whilst Northumbrian Water can utilise their core skills for the day to day running of the pumping stations, water treatment works and sewage treatment works, IUS can provide the expertise for their high voltage networks.
