Customer Name: The University of Leeds
The Brief: The University required their ageing high voltage oil filled switchgear to be replaced with modern 11kV apparatus at 15 substations, including a number of transformer changes. On completion of the works an Operation & Maintenance Contract would be required.
The Solution: By IUS completing the switchgear replacement works we were able to test and commission the apparatus and place the network under our immediate control. Within the Operation & Maintenance Contract IUS can carry out a range of activities including substation inspections, switchgear maintenance, transformer oil analysis, protection testing, fault diagnosis, location & repair, battery maintenance and, where appropriate, non-intrusive maintenance techniques.
The Results: This project gave IUS the opportunity to provide a complete service, which the University is delighted with. Since completion of the installation works, IUS have carried out substation inspections, transformer oil sampling and authorised personnel for control of safety documentation.
