Customer Name: Hydro Polymers
The Brief: Hydro Polymers had previously identified partial discharge activity and requested IUS to complete a survey to determine any increase in severity.
The Solution: IUS have considerable expertise and experience of non-intrusive investigation techniques. Utilising a Partial Discharge Locator and Ultrasonic Detector, IUS were able to identify and pinpoint discharge activity. Significantly an alternative discharge source was also identified in the process.
The Results: IUS have been able to make a recommendation to carry out a high intensity light source inspection with subsequent remedial action. The project highlights the benefits of partial discharge testing as part of potential fault finding or for non-intrusive maintenance requirements.
