DNOUU Service Provider
Customer Name: United Utilities (UU)
The Brief: UU required a contractor to deliver electrical infrastructure
works over a five year period. The services would mainly consist of 6.6kV
& 11kV substation replacement and low voltage network replacement work.
Other activities required included 11kV distribution system automation,
high voltage underground reinforcement and high voltage overhead line refurbishment.
The Solution: IUS operated out of two locations in the North West of England, Preston and Preesall. Geographically the work encompassed the three areas of Lakeland, Lancashire and Manchester. The management team together with Senior Authorised Persons, Design Engineers, Fitters, Cable Jointers and Linesmen were provided via our own 'in-house' staff.
The Results: In total IUS employed approximately 40 staff plus a number of subcontractors. We delivered the contract successfully and achieved an excellent working relationship with the client. In addition to the original brief we also carried out high voltage maintenance work and low voltage service alterations.
